The Charlotte, NC Chiller Production facility is looking for an experienced Customer Service and SIOP Planner to join their Materials team. This associate will be responsible for internal communication and inbound material planning in support of production for the facility.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Participates in developing strategies for materials planning and SIOP
  • Participates in the development of standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP in order to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery.
  • Supports the development of indicators that enable visibility to short and long-term market trends and demand.
  • Identifies appropriate demand streams and supports in establishing data relationship linkages.
  • May work with product development leaders and sales and marketing teams to develop demand forecasts.
  • Supports in planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations.
  • May work with manufacturing team and participates in the development of monthly production volume planning using the business forecast, inventory position, actual customer orders, and the defined capacity parameters.
  • Participates in identifying and developing new technologies to improve materials planning and SIOP capability, sustainability, and reliability.
  • May be responsible for tracking appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement.
  • Supports in the development of processes and plans to improve supply capabilities.
  • Participates in establishing clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for SIOP.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 

- Demonstrate the ability to consistently balance the needs of the organization and the needs of the customer.

- Demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver products and services to meet the needs of the customer.
- Implement lean logistics methods for inbound deliveries including Kanban, Just in Time, and Just in Sequence
- Provide input to update and manage MRP planning parameters to enable computer automated ordering.
- Interface directly with suppliers to manage supply chain process from order entry to receipt of product at the plant, including resolution of late deliveries and escalation where required.
- Work to reduce on hand inventory dollars and increase turns in support of team goals.

 

 

 

 

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • May be responsible for tracking appropriate metrics to drive results and continuous improvement.
  • Supports in the development of processes and plans to improve supply capabilities.
  • Participates in establishing clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for SIOP.
  • Support day to day execution of all purchasing/planning activities
  • Troubleshoot process failure modes and implement corrective actions
  • Provide prompt/immediate response to production and materials regarding parts availability
  • Directly responsible for the tracking and resolving past due order, material releases and production shortages
  • Other material planning duties as required



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience customer service and/or material planning.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Strong inventory control processes to include receiving, material movement and logistics, put away practices, cycle count process, and standard warehousing practices.

Experience in material planning and/or customer service in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrate the ability to balance the needs of the organization and the needs of the customer.
Proficient in CHESS / SAP MRP systems (or similar)

Knowledge of basic ECR/ECN practices.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization
Experience with lean manufacturing and kaizen continuous improvements.
Strong attention to detail.
