About This Role

Experienced Accountant with cost accounting background to execute and provide analysis for general accounting processes such as inter-company cash, cash management, government accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, purchase price variances and / or balance sheet management. Responsible for developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control financial resources and compliance with regulations, laws, and reporting activities.

  • Review bill of materials and routings for structure accuracy; work closely with Industrial Engineers to address any discrepancies in the bill of material and recommend corrective action.

  • Finance liaison for Product Engineering; participate in engineering re-design discussions to ensure proposed cost savings scenarios are accurately being presented to management. Provide make versus buy scenarios to enable management to make sound judgments.

  • Review and record monthly purchase price variance. Participate in the PV forecast process and provide projected monthly PV based on Corporate commodity guidance and production forecast.

  • Coordination and completion of the annual standards review process.

  • Quarterly review and analysis of processed scrap pounds versus pounds shipped and recorded by scrap vendor.

  • Maintain the material standards, labor hours, and overhead cost in the Glovia ERP system.

  • Prepares, examines, and conforms to procedures for general ledger preparation and project and / or government accounting activities.

  • Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.

  • Develops and documents accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.

  • Prepares budgets and forecasts and compares budget to actual costs, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.

  • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations in order to accurately represent financial standing.

  • Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.

  • Leads small scale projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree & 5+ years of accounting experience or Advanced degree & 3+ years of accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience preferred

  • Cost accounting background- standard cost, bill of materials review, purchase price variance
