About this role
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join the Heat Transfer Group part-time in Syracuse, NY for the Fall of 2023. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize laboratory test rigs to characterize the performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces.
- Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.
- Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe the performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.
- Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system-level impacts of new heat transfer components.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study
- 3.0 or higher GPA
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference is being given to the candidate from Syracuse University. This internship is a partnership between Syracuse University and their career center.
- Pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study
- Relevant coursework or previous internships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
