Carrier is currently recruiting for an Associate Director, Engineering Operations - Digital Foundry to join the team.

About the Role:

Joining our team as an Associate Director, Engineering Operations will provide you with an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our engineering department while driving operational efficiency and excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the resourcing, management, and strategic growth of our engineering team, while also driving operational excellence and efficiency within the department. Your primary focus will be on efficiently allocating resources, managing the team, implementing strategic plans, and optimizing engineering operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the department budget, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and developing a framework to track the performance of engineering pods.

Responsibilities:

Performance Tracking and Improvement:

  • Develop and implement a performance tracking framework for engineering pods, enabling accurate measurement and evaluation of team and individual performance.

  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, and proactively address areas for improvement to drive operational excellence.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Operational Excellence:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize engineering operations and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity within the engineering department.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging the adoption of best practices and new technologies.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the department budget effectively, ensuring proper allocation of funds and resources for ongoing and upcoming projects.

  • Monitor and track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide regular budget reports to senior management.

Resourcing and Team Management:

  • Lead the resourcing efforts by effectively allocating resources across engineering projects and initiatives to ensure optimal team utilization.

  • Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth.

  • Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development plans, to drive accountability and growth within the team.

Strategic Planning for Team Growth:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to scale and grow the engineering department, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Identify key areas for expansion and improvement within the engineering team and propose actionable strategies to address them.

  • Work closely with stakeholders, including senior management, to understand business needs and translate them into resource requirements and growth initiatives.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department, aligned with the company's vision and objectives.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and measure the success of engineering operations.

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, providing insights and recommendations for innovation and competitive advantage.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering or operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
