About this role
Carrier is committed to innovation and developing the next generation of products to meet customer needs for building and energy systems. This individual would play a critical role interacting with customers and start-ups to identify critical products and services to expand Carrier's business into new areas. They will work with innovators and engineers to define, refine and develop new products to expand revenue streams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in engaging customers, refining product definitions, and building strong relationships within Carrier's business ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers and stakeholders to identify market needs and requirements for new products and services.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in the building and energy systems industry.
- Collaborate actively with innovators and engineers to refine and iterate on product definitions.
- Build and manage customer and start-up relationships, including regular management updates.
- Coach the technical team on effective customer engagement tools, product definition and techniques to support agile development.
- Provide regular updates on the health and status of customer and start-up relationships.
- Identify market needs and challenges to be addressed in brainstorm sessions and hackathons.
- Coordinate pre-incubation meetings with stakeholders and potential customers to refine pitch presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in customer sales, product marketing, design and/or engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in customer sales, product marketing, design and/or engineering
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in defining new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and build relationships with customers, start-ups, and internal stakeholders.
- Engineering, sales and marketing experience in the building systems or consumer electronics industry
- Willingness to travel 20%
