The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer position offers high visibility and an excellent pathway to future opportunities. This position is for rising professional who works autonomously with limited supervision and supports engineering endeavors in a range of activities associated with defining and evaluating problems, recommending options, implementing solutions, and expediting production processes and operations to ensure quality control, stability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, implement, and validate process enhancements efforts based on customer requirements
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects and activities
  • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and safety to achieve operational goals
  • Lead or participate in a team to research, development, design, testing, and building manufacturing systems and controls (example: electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic)
  • Analyze and determine best equipment setup, layout, and process flow for maximizing processes of parts
  • Implement process improvement/development utilizing lean principles
  • Provide leadership in technical support involving the installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment, and repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Incorporate considerations for safety, environmental, and health in all project work
  • Perform problem-solving, troubleshooting, and expert root cause analysis on all breakdowns to minimize downtime and increase yield
  • Propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and improve overall production performance
  • Develop and coordinate engineering documents, including revision control
  • Develop work instructions, including maintenance, safety, environmental, and health

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
     
  • 5+ years experience in a combination of at least of the two following:
    troubleshooting, research, development, design, testing, building manufacturing systems and controls; involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical equipment.
     
  • 3+ years experience using computer-aided design applications (examples, but not limited to: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Mechanically inclined; able to visualize innovative ways to solve problems
  • Understanding and application of quality systems fundamentals
  • Workload and schedule flexibility as required, on occasion
  • Understanding of the application of lean principles
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across technical and non-technical organizations and to all levels of management
  • Interpersonal and leadership skill to influence group decisions downstream and upstream
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams in a diverse cultural environment
  • Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to deliver successful designs under tight timing constraints
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
