About this role
Marioff in Ashland, MA is recruiting for a Buyer/Planner to join our team onsite.
The Buyer/Planner is dealing with multiple client delivery projects related to water mist fire protection applications role is customer-centric and focuses on the planning, purchasing and monitoring of inventory for these products along with new product launches. Manage daily order scheduling, implement and coordinate International shipments to procure material, and collaborate with production, finance/accounting, and engineering departments to meet company objectives. Perform analysis of cost savings, monitor price changes, manage supplier relationships, negotiate, and establish new suppliers as needed. Also, use internal data via our ERP system and other applicable sources to improve overall factory performance through cost various reduction strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage parts/purchasing strategies in the ERP system
- Manage supplier relations and pricing
- Coordinate inbound freight with suppliers, utilize the transportation management systems
- Responsible for customer-specific projects being built according to specified needs
- Plan and schedule activities within the Operations organization
- Generate material requirements based on manufacturing production schedules
- Review and process purchase orders to meet the needs of production
- Adjust due dates, quantities, and shipments to meet production needs
- Ensure that dates are communicated to and agreed with the supplier
- Participation in corresponding meetings
- Disposition of material using the ECO/ECI process
- Identify potential materials supply issues, communicate and seek resolution proactively
Basic Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years’ experience in an operations planning or purchasing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- CPIM Certification
- Work within a team atmosphere
- Contribute by applying acquired functional knowledge to daily business demands
- Excel and all Microsoft Office products
