The Director of Transportation is responsible for execution of optimal transportation strategies from source to delivery with a critical focus on developing execution plans to manage cost, leverage transportation management providers, and provide superior service to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Serves as a thought leader for transportation innovations and multi modal strategies.
• Monitors and manages transportation operations performance, including setting goals, defining key metrics and communicating vision for the team.
• Leads transportation strategies including the contract negotiations, execution, and services of all interplant and outbound freight.
• Responsible for developing of cost controls, strategies and analysis to meet transportation expense targets and annual freight budget.
• Develops and implement best in class work processes, analytics, delivery methods, service and sustainability efforts as well as leads and executes cost savings projects across the network.
• Ensures all distribution centers (including 3PL’s) transportation activities are efficient, organized and foster teamwork and collaboration such that workforce objectives are met.
• Identifies and applies transportation continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that may arise.
• Oversees Transportation Planning strategy and implementation of North America
• Transportation planning operations to improve freight management, delivery execution and overall logistics operations.
• Responsible for setting clear and measurable performance goals, driving accountability, providing meaningful feedback and continuous improvement within the team. Leads talent development strategies, robust succession planning, facilitating stretch development assignments, accelerated development for high potential employees and promotes leadership coaching.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years' Experience developing and executing progressive transportation performance strategies.
• 5+ years of experience with Supply Chain and Logistics data analytics
• 5+ years managing entire systems, projects, programs or operational unit across or within functional areas as well as budget, staffing, and/or business operational results.
• 2+ years’ experience in the HVAC product industry
• 25% travel
