About this role
Successfully train and certify new and existing 3rd party vendor installation teams to install Onity Access and stand-alone lock systems. Measure 3rd party installation quality and customer satisfaction of work performed, provide constructive feedback, and track performance. Technically support 3rd party vendors via phone and on site to ensure correct installation processes are being used. Resolve escalated customer issues to maintain customer satisfaction. Provide quality assurance support for execution of engineering and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and certify new and existing 3rd party installation crews in-house and in the field in both access and stand-alone locks. Territory is within the US and Canada.
- Perform Access and stand-alone lock quality assurance inspections, provide corrective feedback, and maintain QA records for each 3rd party installer.
- Perform both phone and onsite technical support for escalated customer calls.
- Perform Lock shop trainings at customer’s sites for engineering and lock shop staff, as scheduled by Onity.
- Hold and maintain numerous General Contractors Low Voltage licenses in various states in the company’s name.
- Perform Property certifications for customers installing their own locks.
- Execute the VAR Onboarding process for training and certifying VARs.
- Create and publish a monthly newsletter to 3rd party installation crews to impart best practices and tips and tricks.
- Technical resource for sales and other teams in presenting, demonstrating and explaining product function, network architecture, and data flow.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with access controls in the commercial or hospitality industry.
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in use of hand tools, door mortising, installation problem solving
- Good computer skills with standard business applications. Display superior verbal and written communication skills. Competent PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook
- High degree of ability to interface with the customer and internal Onity staff, make independent decisions, and recognize and solve problems with little or no supervision.
- Experience managing vendors and cross functional teams.
- Previous experience instructing in small or medium sized groups, and communicating mechanical, electronic and/or technical operations preferred.
- Capable of working in a demanding environment with aggressive timeframes, and organizing conflicting time, energy and customer demands.
