About This Role
Carrier is hiring a Customer Insights Coach to help maximize the value of innovations in the Carrier i3 Labs incubator. You will work with innovators, customers, and key business stakeholders to develop breakthrough solutions for Carrier.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model a safe, inclusive, and open culture where stakeholders with diverse perspectives collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver robust outcomes
- Coach innovators in effective customer engagement, design thinking, agile, and lean techniques
- Coach innovators on identifying customers and stakeholders for their ideas
- Collaborate with innovators to refine and iterate on their idea descriptions and pitches
- Engage with business unit leaders and strategy managers across the organization to identify market needs and opportunities for new products and services
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities
- Support and promote i3 Labs activity and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree
- 3+ years of experience in customer discovery, design thinking or engineering
- Ability to travel 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or Sales
- Comfort with project management techniques, preferably Agile
- Inspirational team-player with the curiosity and confidence to both learn and teach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional presence
- Highly flexible thinking style that embraces ambiguity and can guide others towards clarity
- Intellectually curious with a desire to understand the bigger picture
- Business awareness and preferably start-up experience.
- Hands-on business experiences such as sales, business development, marketing, customer research, pitching, coaching, training
- Comfortable working with engineers and technologists
- Experience working in a complex matrixed environment, achieving results through influence rather than formal lines of responsibility
- Facilitating meetings and workshops with highly passionate participants as well as reluctant /shy contributors
