About The Role:

Carrier is seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join the HVAC Commercial Rooftop Engineering team. The Regulatory and Engineering Tools group is focused on compliance with federal and state level regulations, development of industry codes and standards, 3rd party certifications, and the creation of tools and processes to be used in the development of Commercial HVAC equipment. The successful candidate will be an Engineer with strong mechanical engineering skills, along with diverse programming abilities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Projects and tasks will generally focus on one or more of the following: Data analysis and simulation, Database management, Thermodynamics, General Design, and Program Engineering Management
  • Design and development of engineering analytic tools and processes
  • Develop computer models to simulate system and component performance
  • Assist with modifications to SharePoint sites
  • Manage commercial engineering's ratings database and directory
  • Develop and manage laboratory qualification programs for commercial HVAC product
  • Work with factory team to investigate and identify quality issues on current products and develop solutions to improve overall product quality.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering and/or programming experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant programming skills with the ability to use those skills in a variety of ways (VBA and Python experience highly preferred)
  • Ability to learn and utilize different programming languages quickly and accurately
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid flow, and heat transfer
  • Strong communicational skills with proven ability to interact with cross functional team of engineering, design, manufacturing, lab members and suppliers.
  • Strong technical skills and analytical proficiency.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office tools with emphasis on Access and Excel.
