About this role

We are seeking a Product Manager, Water Source Heat Pumps. This role will will be responsible for managing promotion of Carrier’s water source heat pump and self-contained unit products and developing positioning that differentiates our products in the market. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating the value proposition to the sales team, distribution partners & OEM factories. You will develop the sales collateral to support the selling process of our products and provide VOC to the Product Management team.  You will plan the launch and release of new products, manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan and conceive and develop innovative market facing programs and documentation that our Sales Channel will utilize to drive market demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement product updates and new product releases, develop product roadmaps, and manage new release programs.

  • Collaborate with OEM on product requirements, new product releases, product modifications, technical questions, and quality improvements.

  • Work closely with other product managers, engineers, third-party suppliers, and other internal departments to provide product management and application solutions through several customer channels to help increase sales, revenue and margins.

  • Maintain and/or identify product strategies, solutions and tools including comparisons, feature/benefit value, product gap analysis, and sales tools creation.

  • Regularly conduct competitive comparisons, product gap analysis and voice of customer gathering to understand and drive robust product value through features & benefits.

  • Create messaging and tools to assist sales, distributors and dealers gain market share of our products.

  • Coordinates or participates in promotional activities or trade shows..

  • Identifies, develops, and implements near-term and mid-term business strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies, services, follow-on products, and/or industries to ensure profitability and positioning in the market.

  • Initiates and prioritizes projects, tracks product/service development and develops product/service launch plans to effectively manage a product or service category's life cycle and ensure profitability.

  • Establish positive working relationships with the field sales force and be viewed as a specialist regarding product sales and application opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 4+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or product marketing with  commercial industrial products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical understanding of HVAC systems, including system design, building and energy codes, system operation, refrigeration systems, fans, electrical and control systems, and psychometrics

  • Experience with one or more of the following is preferred; water source heat pumps (WSHP), vertical packaged units (VPAC), dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS), make-up air units (MAU), packaged rooftop units (RTU)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Well-developed analytical thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving skills. Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, develop conclusions, and propose solutions

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, teamwork, responsibility, dependability, flexibility, motivation, respect, patience, and leadership

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Well-developed organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and self-direct with multiple activities and projects
