About this Role
This position supervises a team of technical / business support and/or production / maintenance employees in Materials & Logistics and sets day-to-day activities involving storing and shipping products. Conducts inventory control and prepares reports and manuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory
- Lead clerical team of indirect support team members; including but not limited to inventory, logistics, planning etc.
- Complete daily safety inspections
- Track down units with quality issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Monitor yard trailer movement and radio communication
- Support continuous improvement efforts and recommend measures to improve production
- Partner with union leadership to quickly resolve issues and drive a high-performance culture
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safety rules and regulations
- Effectively manage hourly associates and achieve employee engagement objectives
- Use Cx tools to improve production processes and correct deficiencies as they occur
- Ensure EH&S standards and administrative procedures are followed
- Must be able to work all shifts in a 24-hour operation with weekend overtime as required.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience managing or supervising in a warehousing, production, and/or planning environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience motivating, coaching and leading hourly associates, preferably in a union environment
- Proven leadership abilities that drive results with a sense of urgency
- Supervisory experience in materials workforce or shipping/receiving operations with proven leadership skills and experiences
- Result oriented with ability to multitask and handle deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred
- Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
- Ability to effectively work cross functionally with various groups including Materials, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics Center, Finance, HR, EH&S, etc.
- Proficient in the use of PC and software applications
- Experience in a Union environment highly desired
