About this Role

This position supervises a team of technical / business support and/or production / maintenance employees in Materials & Logistics and sets day-to-day activities involving storing and shipping products. Conducts inventory control and prepares reports and manuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse inventory and keep records of the inventory
  • Lead clerical team of indirect support team members; including but not limited to inventory, logistics, planning etc.
  • Complete daily safety inspections
  • Track down units with quality issues and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Monitor yard trailer movement and radio communication
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and recommend measures to improve production
  • Partner with union leadership to quickly resolve issues and drive a high-performance culture
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safety rules and regulations
  • Effectively manage hourly associates and achieve employee engagement objectives
  • Use Cx tools to improve production processes and correct deficiencies as they occur
  • Ensure EH&S standards and administrative procedures are followed
  • Must be able to work all shifts in a 24-hour operation with weekend overtime as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience managing or supervising in a warehousing, production, and/or planning environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience motivating, coaching and leading hourly associates, preferably in a union environment
  • Proven leadership abilities that drive results with a sense of urgency
  • Supervisory experience in materials workforce or shipping/receiving operations with proven leadership skills and experiences
  • Result oriented with ability to multitask and handle deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred
  • Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
  • Ability to effectively work cross functionally with various groups including Materials, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics Center, Finance, HR, EH&S, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of PC and software applications
  • Experience in a Union environment highly desired
