About this role
Carrier is a leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, building controls and automation, and fire and security systems, leading to safer, smarter, sustainable, and high-performance buildings.
We are seeking full-time aid to join our engineering team at our R&D center located in Syracuse, NY, for Summer 2024. If you are interested in being part of engineering the future, learn and work hands-on in our labs in Fast Prototyping, 3D Printing, Product Development, and Concurrent Design, we want to talk to you. Help us reimagine a more sustainable future in HVAC products, from the small AC window units to the large commercial systems that provide comfort control to large-scale facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Support Fast Prototyping activities for Proof of Concept testing of new technology in Heat Transfer systems, both hands-on in our labs and with Engineering analysis work.
Help identify areas of opportunity to improve designs.
Help test fabrication approaches and evaluate Value Propositions to develop technologies.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
3.0 or higher GPA
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate to have basic software knowledge of MATLAB, statistics & CAD. C/C++ would be a plus.
Candidate should be familiar with Statistical Analysis methods. Experience with Minitab software is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting technical information.
Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work independently, organized, and follow directions well.
Knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment is essential for success in this position.
