About this role
Work with hardware and/or software controls engineering team, learning how to design, document, and/or program building automation systems (BASs) in compliance with project plans and specifications. Support engineering team on proactive communication with teams, both internal and external, including requests for information (RFIs) and technical risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of complete building automation systems, including the specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.
- Documentation of the BAS design (i.e., submittals) and revision control of the resultant documents.
- Testing of programming and interfaces prior to deployment.
- Support of functional testing (commissioning) for building systems.
- Identification and communication of project opportunities and risks related to cost, time, and technical considerations.
- Timely creation of requests for information (RFIs).
- Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code of ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Understands electrical and mechanical building systems.
- Able to interpret plans (including architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints), specifications, and contract documents to deliver compliant but optimized designs.
- Proficient with primary functions of BAS software and associated engineering tools (Automated Logic suite preferred).
- Aptitude for problem-solving even when troubleshooting remotely.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Possess and maintain valid and current forms of government-issued identification.
- Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio (other CAD software acceptable).
