About this role 

We are seeking a candidate to join our engineering team as an intern specializing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using PTC's Creo software. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both FEA simulation techniques and CAD modeling within an engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA):
    • Learn and apply principles of FEA to analyze structural problems.
    • Assist in the creation of FEA models using industry-standard software tools.
    • Conduct simulations to evaluate design performance, identify potential issues, and propose automation strategies.
    • Interpret FEA results and collaborate with the engineering team to implement design improvements.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD):
    • Utilize PTC's Creo software to create 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies.
    • Collaborate with engineers to integrate FEA requirements into CAD models and ensure design feasibility.
    • Iterate model based on feedback and optimize for performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Project Support:
    • Contribute to the creation of standard work instructions, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving discussions.
    • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and findings effectively to the project team.

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  •  related field   
  • 3.0 or higher GPA  
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with demonstrated experience in PTC's Creo (formerly Pro/ENGINEER).
  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis concepts is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude toward professional development.
