About this role
This position is for an experienced professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise who leads in the supply and demand planning process, and is responsible for making significant improvements of processes, systems, and products to enhance performance of work area and team. Works with internal and external team leaders to develop financial forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate Demand Forecasting business questions and concerns into specific analytical questions that can be answered with available data using statistical and machine learning methods in Planning tool.
- Work with the business team to produce the required data when it is not available.
- Provide feedback to business teams on the applicability of S&OP/S&OE Planning tool solutions.
- Present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to answer questions about the inputs and outputs of Demand Forecasting systems and improve their performance.
- Communicate verbally and in writing to business customers with various levels of Planning.
- Tool knowledge, educating them on Demand Forecasting as well as sharing insights and recommendations
- Collaborating with data scientists to improve existing Demand Forecasting statistical or machine learning methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, and running computational experiments
- Fine-tuning forecasting models based on updates to business environment and patterns.
- Support decision making by providing requirements to develop analytic capabilities, platforms, pipelines, and metrics then using them to analyze trends and find root causes of forecast inaccuracy.
- Formalizing assumptions about how demand forecasts are expected to behave, creating definitions of outliers, developing methods to systematically identify these outliers, and explaining why they are reasonable or identifying fixes for them
- Provide input to S&OP/S&OE Planning tool support issues
- Support the Demand Review process for the business from Planning tool perspective.
- Assist business teams to evaluate forecasting results by reviewing historical sales trends and researching demand drivers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4+ years of experience in demand forecasting /SIOP solution enablement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 to 5 plus years in demand forecasting with past 4-7 years in S&OP/S&OE Planning tool.
- Engineering/MBA (Ops, SCM)
- Good understanding of demand forecasting and SIOP business processes
- Manage multiple priorities and internal demand forecasting projects
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access
- Effective communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Results oriented focused individual with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to work in cross functional teams
- Ability to identify opportunities by analyzing large datasets in multiple formats
- Data management
- Familiar with JDE and SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or comparable ERP system is Preferable
