About this role

We are seeking a high-energy individual who is passionate about continuous improvement and people development. The position will be a resource for Robust Design Leaders and Product Safety Officers in understanding and implementing new product development product safety tools, manage and drive improvements in product safety requirements, tools and training and enhance collaboration across functions to improve overall product quality, reliability and safety. The position will have visibility across Engineering, Environment Health & Safety (EHS), Operations and Quality teams in all Carrier business segments globally.

Key Responsibilities

As RDL (Robust Design Leader) for new product development product safety:

  • Champion of the product safety deliverables for the new product and software development processes (PDP) including safety review and hazard assessments, FMEA, and risk mitigation
  • Manage standard work updates and continuously improve efficiency and clarity of the product safety processes, tools and deliverables
  • Establish proactive product safety maturity index, align with businesses on goals and measure performance
  • Conduct internal audits and monitor performance to ensure product safety deliverable compliance with intent

As RDL (Robust Design Leader) for product safety training and skill development:

  • Evaluate product safety training performance and recommend new innovative ways to improve the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Plan, develop and deliver effective technical training program that incorporates blended learning methods for enhanced learner retention and encourage skill development
  • Partner across functions to understand their business strategy and supporting skills matrix and onboarding plan to enable the effectiveness of product safety skill development
  • Clarify and translate the product safety requirements and training to ensure a seamless global learning experience
  • Support Train-the-Trainers and certified trainer network across the global organization

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • 7+ years of experience in quality, engineering or safety

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Exceptional leader in communication, knowledge-sharing and people development
  • Safety practices including FMEA, risk assessment, safety review and hazard assessments
  • Background in process management and/or six sigma methods
  • Quality practices including PPAP, Statistical process control/process certification, root cause analysis, Controls plans
  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels and functions of the organization
  • Train, coach employees and organizational development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience
  • Outstanding organization and follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a successful track record
  • Strong and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Suite (PPT, Word, Project, Excel, etc.)as well as relevant software tool
