About this role

ALC in Kennesaw GA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations and Continuous Improvement Manager to lead our manufacturing team and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing manufacturing operations, production planning, materials management, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and optimization of our manufacturing processes.

This is an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the manufacturing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze production schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen challenges.
  • Implement effective materials management strategies to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.
  • Lead the implementation of lean processes across the manufacturing site, creating a lean vision and strategy.
  • Develop and execute plans to reduce inventory, lead time, and waste.
  • Drive measurable improvements in customer delivery, productivity, and product flow through the implementation of lean methodologies.
  • Formulate plans and teams to develop pull systems, training personnel, and other activities to achieve world-class process flow.
  • Develop value stream maps for the organization, identifying opportunities to eliminate process waste through the implementation of lean techniques.
  • Guide plant teams in developing and executing lean plans to reduce inventory, lead time, and waste, while enhancing process quality.
  • Promote the integration of Carrier Excellence and Lean methodologies, and leverage the strengths of both methods to achieve business goals.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in establishing product flow for plant value streams using visual management tools.
  • Encourage the use of lean tools to pull material from suppliers and internal sources or customers.
  • Facilitate training of lean concepts and mentor personnel in utilizing lean tools effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years plus of experience supervising and/or managing employees in manufacturing, warehousing or distribution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Operation
  • Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or Carrier Excellence
  • Supply chain, SIOP, logistics
  • Technical writing proficient
