About this role

Commercial HVAC Operations is searching for a dynamic candidate to lead our Carrier Excellence (Cx) and Factory Transformation initiatives at our Charlotte factory location. The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for bringing growth ambitions to life by identifying and delivering a viable factory transformation plan aligned with business strategies. Additionally, this role will lead our factory on our Carrier Excellence journey and includes managing a central team of associates. This is a key leadership position on the Plant Manager's staff and serves as a direct liaison with the business transformation and Cx teams.

This is an onsite role in Charlotte NC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as factory transformation project manager to support factory volume growth and capacity collaborating with global and regional support functions
  • Lead the analysis of the current state to identify and prioritize opportunities for capacity increases through factory master planning, manufacturing cycle time reduction, and optimized material flow
  • Drive projects and programs for the opportunities identified, ensure accountability to timelines, deliverables, and business outcomes
  • Manage and communicate project status including milestones, risks, and action items to drive completion in a timely manner (on time, in budget) to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executive presentations
  • Deliver effective change management that engages and promotes employee relations across the professional and hourly workforce
  • Lead high-impact initiatives within our manufacturing sites through the application of lean and achieve sustained productivity improvements
  • Provide direction for the overall continuous improvement activities; support the development and deployment of Carrier Excellence and the continuous improvement aspect of the Carrier Operating system at Carrier.
  • Stimulate growth by leading focused Carrier Excellence (Cx) events to drive productivity gains
  • Implement, improve, and sustain foundational Operations effectiveness processes including funnel management, visibility Kaizens, and transformative Manufacturing
  • Work with Operations teams to install and drive good daily management and problem-solving processes; build appropriate standard work and weekly/monthly performance scorecards for enhanced visual management
  • Provide Cx training and coaching; improve Cx training and facilitation skills by increasing the pool of certified practitioners

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 10+ years experience in HVAC or industrial equipment industries
  • 2+ years of experience managing improvement projects
  • 5+ years of experience with Lean or continuous improvement methodology
  • 3+ years of site/factory leadership experience, cross-functional team management

  • Strong interpersonal and English communication skills
