About the Role

The Engineering Co-op will assist the development of software that meets the needs of customers by refining/reviewing requirements, architecting and designing a software solution, planning and estimating development work, implementing the software solution, assisting with or writing test plans and documentation, and maintaining the solution. The individual will be expected to understand application functionality, technical components, and interact with the external customer base to obtain feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain voice of the customer
  • Designing and implementing software systems
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting software problems reported by internal QA team or external customers
  • Providing feasibility studies and high level estimations of effort required to complete a project
  • Writing software design documentation
  • Participating in the full life cycle of development from specification and design through implementation, testing and support
  • Working in international/multicultural environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor of Science in a Technical, Project or Product
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in developing, managing or supporting software products used in the Alarm Industry.
  • Interest in working with large MS SQL Server databases and the customers that use them.
  • Experience with C# and Angular.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player, able to work across different cultures and time zones.
  • Possesses an intermediate knowledge of enterprise, database, Internet, spreadsheet, email, word processing, & CRM software and the environments in which they are used.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in assessing priority and severity of issues.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles is a plus.
