This position is for a Lead Logistics Technician who is under minimal supervision. Leads lower level staff in activities related to handling and maintaining the flow of materials and products according to established guidelines. Analyzes material usage, including scrap rate and repair history, minimum stock and pool quantity calculation accordingly to fulfill production requirements. Leads in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of business support employees. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.

Key Requirements:

  • Works under minimal supervision to provide assistance with managing inventory and movement of materials
  • Ensures accuracy of shipping documentation
  • Leads lower level staff in activities related to handling and maintaining the flow of materials and products according to established guidelines
  • Performs data analysis to facilitate setting transportation and service rates
  • Reads production and delivery schedules, and confers with supervisors, to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallets and destinations of loaded pallets
  • Responds to complex customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services
  • Analyzes material usage, including scrap rate and repair history, minimum stock and pool quantity calculation accordingly to fulfill production requirements
  • Implements warehouse safety and security programs and activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 + years of experience with logistics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree is preferred
  • 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in traffic control/ distribution activities
  • Have strong organizational, communication, partnership, and social skills.
  • Practice strong relationship skills with the ability to work across a broad range of job levels
