Carrier's Syracuse campus, serves as the company's primary engineering and design hub. This facility focuses on product development, research, and innovation in HVAC and refrigeration technologies. It also houses the Customer Care Call Center for Carrier-branded products, providing support to customers across North America. In addition to its engineering center, Carrier Syracuse also operates as a Commercial Branch. This facility offers a range of services for Commercial HVAC systems, including assembling connectivity kits, maintenance, repairs, and customized service solutions. Staffed by skilled professionals, the branch provides responsive support to meet the specific needs of commercial clients in the region.

About this role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to lead a small team of technicians in the assembly and coordination of connectivity kits for Carrier’s Commercial Chillers. This role involves managing inventory, logistics, and customer communications to ensure timely and accurate delivery of final products.

This is an onsite 1st shift role in Syracuse NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build new connectivity kits for chillers based on the demand from customers
  • Lead a small team of technicians in the assembly of connectivity kits
  • Work independently/minimal supervision; oversee inventory and material movement
  • Prepare/manage outbound shipping documentation
  • Receive/inspect inbound materials to verify accuracy against purchase orders
  • Manage the flow of materials and finished products in the manufacturing area according to company protocols
  • Maintain/update production timelines and delivery schedules
  • Respond to customers’ and shippers’ inquiries/concerns/complaints related to inventory issues, delivery delays, and other kits delivery problems
  • Track/trace shipments en route to North American customer destinations
  • Gather/analyze data from the customer database for the internal weekly calls to identify demand for assembling of connectivity kits
  • Coordinate with customers to ensure on-time delivery of completed kits

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly or logistics 
  • 1+ years of leading a team
  • Able to perform physical labor activities i.e. bend, lift (~ 30 lbs.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training
