We are seeking a Transportation Planner who is motivated, and a process-oriented individual that will contribute to our supply chain effectiveness from the supplier through the end customer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Daily transportation planning consolidation and building of outbound shipments via TMS to ensure on-time delivery at lowest reasonable cost.
- Tendering and acceptance of all shipments daily via contracted Truckload, Intermodal, LTL, Small Parcel, and Flatbed transportation providers.
- Manage daily hot requests to ensure prioritized for planning and transmitted to warehouse to ensure on-time delivery.
- Set delivery appointments to ensure earliest possible delivery based on DC capacity and provider transit time.
- Manage timely and accurate communications (Email, Phone, etc) to internal and external customers.
- Provide daily shipment plan to Distribution Centers based on forecast and capability.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that reduced delivered cost while improving on-time delivery.
- Provide EOD status report to leadership measuring daily performance as well as opportunities for improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in transportation or logistics or supply chain or planning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working directly with Transportation Providers required
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Passion for servicing customers. Ability to listen to customer needs and quickly act to solve their problems, go above and beyond to exceed their expectations
- Proven ability to execute with speed and exhibit a bias for action mindset
- Ability to think outside the box, innovate, take risks and implement progressive, sustainable solutions
- Strong ability to build diverse, cross functional project teams to achieve high levels of performance in a dynamic, changing environment
- Must have superior skills with Microsoft Office Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint
