About This Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to lead our Cloud Engineering and Governance initiatives. This role requires a leader who can effectively manage globally distributed teams, drive multi-cloud governance, platform automation, and ensure the alignment of cloud operations with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a globally distributed team of cloud automation engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions.
- Drive cloud governance strategies, ensuring adherence to security policies, compliance standards, tagging standards, and risk management practices.
- Oversee multi-cloud platform automation efforts across AWS, Azure, and GCP, leveraging orchestration tools (Terraform/Open Tofu, Circle CI, Docker, Ansible, Chef/Puppet, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud infrastructure and operations with business and IT objectives.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) using tools such as Azure AD, AWS IAM Identity Center, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML.
- Act as a point of escalation and provide technical leadership on cloud initiatives and IT service management (ITSM) practices.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver on technology initiatives.
- Provide regular communication to executive leadership on cloud strategies, performance, and risk.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and infrastructure, with strong cloud knowledge in AWS or Azure.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical leadership experience.
- High School Diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role, leading teams of 5 or more.
- Strong experience in multi-cloud governance and platform automation.
- Deep understanding of IT Risk Management, Security Policies, Compliance Standards, and Internal Audits.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery.
- Identity management expertise with tools like Azure AD, Okta, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
- Proficiency with orchestration and DevOps tools.
- Excellent organization, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with IT engineers and report cloud strategies to executive leadership.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.
- Solid administrative and project management skills.
- Proven track record of delivering objectives on time and within budget.
- Exposure to large-scale multi-cloud implementations.
- Advanced cloud platform automation experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong situational analysis, decision-making abilities, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with product-focused program management.
- Ability to lead and influence at all organizational levels and manage multiple in-flight initiatives.
- Experience implementing critical organizational initiatives.
