The Director Carrier Excellence Transformation is responsible for leading and embedding Lean principles and practices within operational or administrative and support functions across the organization. This role focuses on enhancing cross functional end-to-end process efficiency, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer centricity in all direct or indirect areas across the Carrier organization.  

 

This role will mentor leaders and teams, design and deliver lean training, and drive impactful transformation initiatives (E2E projects, lighthouse projects), ensuring measurable and sustainable improvements to create simplicity and cross functional productivity, while maximizing customer value. The Director Carrier Excellence Transformation will also lead and coordinate global Cx Teams to design & drive transformational projects. Together with the Global Director of Cx and the Carrier senior leadership team, the position will support in deducting the most impactful initiatives based on the corporate strategy. 

 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

 

1. Strategic Leadership 

  • Contribute to define and execute a strategy for implementing Carrier Excellence in operative or administrative functions, aligned with organizational goals. 

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cultural transformation within cross-functional teams. 

  • Champion Lean thinking across all levels, promoting a mindset of efficiency and continuous improvement. 

  • Lead central and decentral Cx teams in project planning, design and execution 

  • Synchronize with leaders of manufacturing technologies to ensure application of state-of-the art technologies. 

 

2. Coaching and mentoring end-to-end process improvement projects 

  • Identify project opportunities for E2E projects together with the ELT, business leadership teams and functional leaders. 

  • Plan and design transformational projects as well as supervising project managers and teams to execute projects. 

 

3. Coaching and Mentorship lean practices 

  • Coach senior leaders in developing Hoshin Kanri competitiveness plan, align on strategy and targets and drive break-through initiatives. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor and mentor to operative or administrative leaders and teams, guiding them in applying Lean principles to improve workflows, processes, organization and culture. 

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to leaders to build Lean leadership capabilities and embed Lean behaviors. 

 

4. Performance Measurement and Improvement 

  • Develop and implement metrics to track the performance and impact of transformational projects or programs. 

  • Regularly evaluate processes and identify opportunities for incremental or breakthrough improvements. 

  • Document and share success stories and lessons learned to sustain momentum and drive engagement. 

5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Partner with functional leaders to understand pain points and co-develop Lean solutions tailored to specific administrative challenges.  

  • Act as a bridge between administrative teams and other operational units to ensure a cohesive Lean transformation strategy.  

  • Engage with external Lean networks and experts to bring best practices into the organization. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree  

  • 10+ years of experience in lean transformation practices, lean coaching, lean consultancy, or operational excellence roles. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's in Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering  

  • Deep expertise in Lean practices and methodologies with demonstrated track record of improvement projects. 

  • Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and implement process improvements. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
