About this role

The Talent Partner acts as a critical global thought partner and subject matter expert in the development and implementation of talent programs (e.g., L&D, succession pool management, performance management, diversity & inclusion, engagement, etc.) for the Carrier Digital & Engineering functions. This role requires a strong business acumen to understand talent needs as they relate to business strategies and partner with regional and local HR teams to maximize how we strategically invest in the attraction, development, and retention of talent; including partnership to drive key performance metrics to ensure success. The incumbent will drive initiatives in close collaboration with the customer group HR Business Partner to increase a positive, inclusive and engaging team member experience across the employee lifecycle. Besides acting as a subject matter expert, the Talent Partner partners with the value stream leaders within the Global Talent COE to support the design and implementation of new or enhanced talent programs at the Carrier level. This is also a critical stake holder in establishing the talent priorities, gaining alignment and sharing the voice of its customer group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Management Programs Implementation

  • Partner with the customer group senior business and HR leadership and Talent COE in the development of proactive talent strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Ensure the deployment of the Carrier Talent programs and tools portfolio within his/her customer group leadership and HRBP community

  • Primary point of contact for identifying, selecting, and addressing the prioritized Talent “interventions” for his/her customer group including collaboration with regional/local Talent COE resources.

  • L&D – Conducts needs assessments for the customer group and creates training and development plans for the business to address extensive and/or critical skills gaps in the organization. Works with Global L&D team to leverage common and core learning resources and identify and implement scalable solutions to these gaps. May contribute to global learning solutions on a project basis.

  • Talent Management – Actively manages the talent pipeline for the customer group to ensure bench strength is continually improving. Manage HiPo and succession pools to ensure that people are gaining the necessary experiences to prepare them for critical roles.

  • I&D – Champions global guidelines that help the company continually evolve workforce diversity and work environment inclusivity. Develop and implement relevant strategies aligned with Carrier I&D strategy and tools for his/her customer group.

  • Performance – Proactively communicates with HR teams around the performance process. Provides guidelines and resources to promote a Performance Culture and enable employees and managers to perform at their best.

  • Culture – Acts as an ambassador to the company culture, ensuring that our programs drive the behaviors we value as a company.

  • Engagement - Provides insights, recommendations, and guidance on how to change perspectives as a result of pulse survey feedback.

  • Strategy and thought partnership:

    • Acts as a thought partner to local HRBPs in the planning and implementation of talent programs.

    • Acts as the main point of contact and the key subject matter expert for assigned customer group unit talent programs and projects. Solves complex problems that arise in the implementation and management of these programs.

    • Help customer group defining its Talent priorities and ensure key stakeholders’ alignment.

    • Provides feedback from the business on talent programs to the Global Talent COE teams. Keeps up to date on best practices and makes recommendations for improvements to talent programs.

  • Partnership and Relationship Management:

    • Actively builds trusting relationships with customer group senior leadership and HR Leaders, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure global strategy consistency, scalability and success.

    • Works closely with key stakeholders, including COEs, to develop a keen understanding of business needs to create and implement seamlessly integrated talent solutions.

    • Ensures that there is on-going two-way communication and feedback in the management of assigned projects and programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in Talent Management or strategic HR role

  • Minimum 2+ years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience in one or more specialized fields within talent management involving multiple countries is required (e.g., L&D, D&I, Performance, Talent Pipeline, and Succession Pool Development)

  • Past experience as an HR generalist or HR Business partner is preferred

  • Ability to manage Talent and Performance global projects and programs within a matrixed work environment with multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to think strategically to create/source solutions that are aligned to business objectives and aimed at enhancing the employee experience

  • Strong consultation and client service skills with the ability to facilitate insights, influence leaders at all levels, and guide talent decisions throughout the business

  • Ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders, including working closely with colleagues with varying perspectives and across multiple sites and geographies

  • Strong understanding of the key talent metrics and analytics that can drive strategic decision making in the business

  • Experience identifying skills gaps and managing a complex talent pipeline, including multiple workforce segments and across businesses with varying needs

  • Has a passion for learning and staying at the forefront of the field to ensure strategies and platforms are leading the way and future focused

  • Ability to be agile, adapt to changing business landscapes and embrace change

  • Willing and able to lean in to make an impact beyond own Area of Responsibility
