Job Description:

  • Performs duties related to overall planning and execution of customer projects with the Project Manager, including post-sales support within the major project parameters of completing work on time, within budget, and to project specifications. 

  • Effectively leads moderate complex customer projects; and provides subject matter expertise in areas including project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. 

  • Helps maintains control of project schedule, cost, quality, customer satisfaction, and safety. This individual will also support the sales team by assisting in bid development and notifying them of customer concerns and trends.

  • Responsible for managing project budgets to meet or exceed financial requirements, including the effective and efficient use of project resources. 

  • Responsible for managing relationships and communication with key project stakeholders during the project duration. 

  • Presents updates to management and customers on project progress, project cycle, and expected results. Manages subcontractor and vendor relationships.

  • Expected to develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems, Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus

  • Project Engineers are responsible for managing the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions

  • Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables

  • The Project Engineer helps oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation

  • Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts Work in Progress meetings

  • Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications

  • Conveys a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management

  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors

  • Accurately forecast revenue each month by reviewing each project to correctly estimate the value of work completed each month

  • Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out

  • Manage the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur

  • Assure that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin

  • Assure that job safety is priority on every project

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • H.S Diploma

  • 3+ years of mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, construction, or related project management experience.

  • Must be able to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Visio, MS Project. Ability to create tracking spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros. Experience in Bluebeam and Autodesk Build is a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree

  • Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification is preferred.

  • PMP certification is preferred or working towards PMP Certification.

  • Experience managing budgets for large construction projects.

  • Experience managing project risk and earned value

  • Available for local travel

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
