About the Role

The General Manager for the Illinois and Indiana is responsible for leading and directing all Automated Logic sales, operations, and business activities of its $70M profit center. This position is responsible for growing market share, maximizing profits, directing, evaluating, and controlling the effective execution of sales, service, financial, human resources, and operations programs, and implementing plans to create and sustain a strategic competitive position and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Business Growth and Planning: Profitably grow the local business by capturing market share, and by leveraging current success to enter new verticals

  • Financial Management: Oversee the development of the detailed annual financial plan

  • Account Development & Customer Satisfaction: Maintain professional relationships with customers and ensure that delivery of projects and services supports high levels of customer satisfaction and drives preference for Automated Logic and other Carrier brands

  • Focus on Results: Establish a culture of meeting results and expectations by implementing performance metrics and accountability at all levels of the organization. Metrics should be specific to each function of the business and should be aligned to the company objectives

  • Manage business performance metrics and achieve or surpass plan goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and develop talent within the area management team

  • Implement strategies to grow the sales revenue and the profitability of the business in accordance with organizational goals.

  • Engage and communicate technical and non-technical information with key customers to drive business profitability.

  • Develop short- and long-term action plans based on understanding of market conditions and company value proposition

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 6+ years of experience with sales and/or operations in building systems, building services, or construction

  • 3+ years of experience in people management

  • Ability to travel 25% of typical work week, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales strategy development experience- managing a field sales team including coaching and development

  • Strong communication and networking skills

  • Ability to understand marketplace dynamics including trends and assessment of competitors programs

  • Success in leading, motivating, engaging and influencing others
