External Description:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with Transportation business and finance leaders to develop quarterly, annual, and five-year plans and monitor progress against key financial objectives.
- Provide analysis, critique, and explanation of monthly operating results and quarterly results.
- Provide clear reporting and analytics for Transportation segment costs and highlight areas of focus to drive cost efficiencies.
- Communicate recommendations to the Vice President of Finance and the President of Transportation. Present these recommendations monthly to support business reviews and drive business decisions
- Lead Operations FP&A finance with focus on global footprint optimization, productivity projects and reporting, capital investment, and other KPI measurement to drive actions.
- Partner with various Transportation and finance functions, including Operations, Supply Chain and CBS to review and report on working capital progress across the segment.
- Provide business partnering to several key senior leadership members in Transportation – including Engineering, Program Management, Product & Solutions, HR, legal and Marketing. Lead the team in preparing budgets, reports and analysis to drive key actions and investment decisions
- Drive use of automation and AI for continued financial visibility and cost efficiency
- Lead FP&A finance transformation globally, for the transportation segment, partnering with transportation business unit FP&A groups, Carrier FP&A and HVAC organizations. Develop, form, and execute a high functioning organization in a cost-effective manner with a focus on standardization, efficiency and analytics.
- Lead the development of an effective FP&A organization and its members. Ensure timely and complete feedback provided to all associates, which will enable them to improve their overall performance and contribution to Carrier.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance / business administration / economics / commerce (concentration in finance), with 10+ years’ experience in finance, of which 2+ years with FP&A.
- 3+ years people management experience (with direct reports).
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)

- MBA preferred.
- Experience leading FP&A activities in a large, global industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational and people development skills.
- Proven business partnership experience, including driving change and meeting finical objectives in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with HFM preferred.
- Ability to partner with both finance and operations leaders.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Forward thinking, strategic and execution oriented.
- Manage concurrent assignments and respond quickly to ad hoc requests.
- Proven experience providing strategic and functional leadership required.
