Technology that supports the buildings and industry of today and tomorrow requires a wide range of talents and skill sets.

About the Role

There is a distinct advantage in our industry when you can sell with total confidence in the impact of your work. As a Controls Account Executive, you won’t just be selling equipment - you’ll be delivering intelligent, high-performance solutions that transform how buildings operate across the Greater Montreal Area.

In this customer-facing, quota-carrying role, your primary mission is to drive sales growth, expand our market footprint, and solve complex building challenges. You will sit at the intersection of business development and technical sales, operating within a collaborative environment where you own your territory while leveraging the full backing of our technical and operational teams to win and deliver standout projects.

Who You Are

  • A Driven Sales Professional: You bring a strong technical aptitude in building automation systems and a proven ability to identify, advance, and close high-value opportunities.

  • A Navigating Strategist: You excel at reading complex construction environments, interpreting technical scope, and guiding key stakeholders through every stage of the buying journey.

  • A Collaborative Solution Architect: You thrive on converting technical specifications into tailored customer solutions while partnering cross-functionally to ensure flawless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Relationship Building

  • Drive Regional Growth: Proactively identify and develop new Building Automation opportunities across the Greater Montreal Area using bid/specification platforms, construction databases, and active industry networking.

  • Expand Strategic Networks: Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with building owners, consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users to position tailored building automation solutions.

  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the company at client meetings, job sites, trade shows, and industry events to elevate our market presence and generate qualified, high-intent leads.

Technical Sales & Pipeline Execution

  • Master the Sales Cycle: End-to-end ownership of the sales funnel - including targeted prospecting, opportunity qualification, solution positioning, custom proposal development, negotiation, and closing.

  • Technical Interpretation: Rigorously review project documentation, perform detailed take-offs, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to build highly competitive, accurate proposals.

  • Pipeline Discipline: Diligently manage, track, and forecast opportunity pipelines, account activities, and performance metrics within CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).

Strategy, Negotiation & Insights

  • Negotiate for Value: Structure and negotiate contract terms and pricing aligned with overarching company strategy, margin expectations, and risk management standards.

  • Market Intelligence: Gather and translate market trends, competitive intelligence, and direct customer feedback into actionable insights to inform sales strategy and continuous operational improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience within the Greater Montreal market

  • 2+ years of experience within the building automation industry

  • Ability to travel up to 25% to attend corporate meetings, training, and industry events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail paired with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; hands-on experience with technical estimating, design/engineering tools, and CRM platforms is a major plus (e.g., Bluebeam, BidTracer, Salesforce).
