About this role:
This position is a recognized master in the Human Resources Generalist discipline. Develops and implements a variety of HR programs, addresses complex HR inquiries, and monitors market trends to address HR development needs. Manages the development of human resources documents, and advises on Talent Management and Labor and Employee Relations issues.
This role is responsible for maintaining day-to-day activities including staffing and sourcing, talent development, performance programs, compensation, policy compliance, employee relations, and communications across the North America, Commercial HVAC, and Field Service business. This position reports to the HR Director, CHVAC North America, and supports two Western US Zones with 600 employees and $300M in revenue.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive strategic business partner that will provide HR client support and guidance while interfacing with senior leaders, unions, HR Centers of Excellence, and employees across the Field Service organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders across the US West Field Service and global functions to provide HR leadership, direction, and counseling on various HR-related topics and business decisions
- Partner with relevant Human Resources Centers of Excellence (COE) to deliver human resources programs and business outcome-focused solutions
- Project manage with the ability to develop and interpret HR metrics to drive business decisions and outcomes
- Coach leaders to make sound business decisions with regard to talent and performance management
- Ensure robust succession and development plans throughout the organization to improve engagement and retention and support the development of key talent
- Autonomy to develop and implement strategies that support our inclusion and diversity (I&D) goals
- Participate in company-wide HR projects and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and drive change management activities, as needed
- Help drive standardization across the HR team/function and identify ways to continuously improve the way we work
- Support both union and non-union workforce
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6 + years of Human Resources experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred
- Ability to think outside the box and generate solutions to support business objectives through our talent
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to cultivate strong working relationships
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
- Strong business judgment skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity
- Results-oriented with a keen focus on success and achievement
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
- General knowledge of employment law (such as the ADA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, NRLA, & Title VII) and ability to apply legal concepts to real-world situations
- Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations
- Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate policies, practices, and the Carrier Code of Ethics
