External Description:

Key Responsibilities: 

• Create and revise CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, and associated engineering documentation.
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using Creo and other approved engineering tools.
• Execute assigned design tasks in support of New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering programs.
• Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through documentation updates, checklist completion, and drawing revisions.
• Apply engineering standards, drafting practices, GD&T requirements, and Design Services procedures.
• Create and maintain accurate product structures, assemblies, and BOMs within Windchill and associated PLM systems.
• Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and release preparation activities.
• Resolve review comments and incorporate design updates in a timely manner.
• Work closely with Design Leads, Lead Designers, Engineers, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel to complete assigned work.
• Identify documentation issues, design conflicts, and manufacturability concerns and elevate them appropriately.
• Communicate progress, risks, and blockers affecting assigned tasks.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and adherence to Design Services standard work.
• Travel up to 10%.

Required Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of product design experience in an engineering environment.
• 2+ years of Creo Parametric experience with demonstrated proficiency in 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
• 2+ years of experience working with engineering drafting standards and GD&T principles.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related technical field.
• Experience with Windchill or similar PLM systems.
• Experience creating and revising production drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation. 
• Experience in HVAC, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with sheet metal design and documentation.
• Experience with top-down design methodologies.
• Six Sigma Certification
• Experience working with large assemblies and configurable product structures.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles.
• Experience supporting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and release processes.
• Ability to manage assigned design tasks with limited supervision.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
