External Description:

Carrier Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and results driven individual to join the Commercial Airside (AHU) New Product Development team. The successful candidate will work on design of new products and options to support the growth of the Commercial Airside business. As part of the AHU team s/he will work with other departments including Product Management, Manufacturing and other R&D teams to continually improve the quality of the product offering. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on projects with moderate supervision and mentoring from a senior level engineer or manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate design concepts based on customer requirements.
  • Translate concepts into rules based parametric designs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities including standard work, Kaizen and VSM events.
  • Works for Air Handler New Product Development Engineering team to author Engineering rules to drive product design.
  • Work with 3D geometry and engineering rules to support manufacturing using sheet metal flats and bills of material to final forms and assemblies.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field 
  • 1+ years of experience in HVAC engineering or design or manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of PTC’s Pro/Engineer (Creo) and WindChill applications
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
  • Able to identify and develop continuous improvement projects to influence and drive change
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written and verbal format across a wide audience
  • Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment
