About This Role

Carrier Transicold is seeking a motivated Aftermarket Engineer to join the Athens Truck/Trailer Engineering Team to support the Aftermarket initiative. In this role, the engineer will lead key Aftermarket projects to completion. This role will provide design and development engineering support to execute Aftermarket development projects to drive incremental top-line Aftermarket growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects using Engineering Qualification Process and the internal Quality Review Board (QRB) Process
  • Willingness to take on project management activities as needed throughout the design cycle such as developing and managing Project Schedules including Qualification Testing Timelines, QRB Deliverables, and cross-functional deliverables
  • Play a part in the Voice of Customer (VOC) process to understand key customer needs concerning Aftermarket solutions. This may mean occasional travel to Customer or Dealer sites
  • Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for the design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices
  • Engineering Lead responsible for project execution, working in a cross-functional environment
  • Apply knowledge of DFMEA or other robust engineering tools, tolerance analysis, simulation, and statistical methods to improve the robustness and quality of Aftermarket projects
  • Assist with Engineering Qualification, drawing updates, and overall implementation of tasks on Aftermarket Projects
  • Utilize Carrier Excellence (Carrier’s operating system) as a guide to streamline project deliverables
  • Work closely with business personnel to obtain information/data needed for project execution
  • Prepare and present Project Updates to Engineering Team and Cross-Functional Groups
  • Conduct Technical Reviews with key experts
  • Perform Data Analysis, Drawing/Model Review, and Cost Analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering fields
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • 10% travel required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of design of components and assemblies for manufacturing.
  • Basic HVACR experience and knowledge of refrigeration principles and systems (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects/tasks on schedule
  • Practical application of textbook knowledge required
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Self-Motivated and energetic team player that can demonstrate adaptability and work with limited supervision
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical and soft skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with PLM systems for storage/retrieval of CAD files.
