About this role:

Carrier’s Digital Products and Software team is building solutions to reimagine the systems that shape the way we live, work, and learn. We're setting the standard for healthier, safer, and more resilient built environments – and connecting the cold chain to improve the process of safely shipping and storing food and critical medical supplies.

As a member of the Platform Engineering team, the DevOps Manager will enable the engineering teams scaling our infrastructure, platform and internal developer tooling of multiple global digital products being developed within Carrier Digital. This role will work on a range of software products critical to Carrier’s continued business growth.  As a manager, you'll lead a team of engineers through design and implementation of modern software delivery systems.

• Manage day-to-day activities of DevOps engineers
• Establish DevOps Center of Excellence for Carrier Digital
• Partner with TestOps and TechOps leadership to ensure alignment with Platform Engineering goals
• Lead engineers on the operational challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance and efficiency of our software delivery systems
• Help the team and other engineering leaders to continuously improve our operating processes
• Ensure we run a cost-effective service, monitor and make changes to hit spending targets
• Work directly with the other Digital leaders and your team to define and evolve our architecture
• Help build a diverse and highly skilled team able to keep up with a rapidly growing product

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10+ years of professional experience in Software Delivery
• 6+ years of leadership experience
• 4+ years of experience in people management
• 4+ years of experience creating and maintaining CI/CD tooling
• 4+ years of experience with traditional IT infrastructure management
• 4+ years of experience delivering cloud native software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on experience with vendor selection
• Familiarity with budgeting processes
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or equivalent practical experience
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• Multiple IAC Methods, such as CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, CDK, SAM, Terraform
• Hands on experience delivering cloud native software using modern DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Application Security concepts such as OWASP, CVE, SAST
