About this Role
The Financial Analyst will be part of the Suppression business within the Industrial Fire Products & Solutions group providing critical financial support in the areas of finance, sales, engineering, and operations. The emphasis will be on gathering data from multiple Suppression entities and creating analysis and reports that will enable management to make effective and efficient business decisions and process improvements. In addition, the Analyst will help to build and maintain forecasting, budgeting, profitability models, and ad hoc models to drive business profitability and efficiency. Reporting to Suppression CFO the Analyst will work with management and cross functionally with members from all departments across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Develop and prepare key operational and financial metrics for Senior Management and WHQ
Create and provide value added analysis and recommendations
Assist with reporting and analysis for the monthly close, annual audits and ad hoc reporting
Provide analytics and lead meetings focused on the following areas of the business but not limited to: overhead spend, sales strategy, capital expenditures, budget, share of segment, working capital and new product development
Assist with preparation of Senior Management and WHQ presentations
Extensive data mining and analysis from various systems and sources to support the basis for various models and analysis.
Design and implement process/systems improvements to create efficiencies within our teams
Assist with the annual budgeting process
Required Qualifications
5+ years of demonstrated FP&A experience in a global, complex organization with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Business Analytics or Economics OR 3+ years of FP&A experience with a Master’s Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong data analytics skills and other statistical techniques
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, working across all levels, functions and global regions
High level of quality/accuracy in his/her work, detailed oriented, low level of supervision required.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, handle multiple projects at the same time.
High level of proficiency with Excel or related tools
Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, SAP or similar systems.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
