The Fire and Security group at Carrier represents a comprehensive product portfolio to protect buildings, people, and assets. We provide innovative security products that include advanced software and hardware, IP solutions, wireless communications, electronic locking systems, mobile applications, and fire suppression and detection systems.

BrokerBay is a new division of the Fire and Security business within Carrier. BrokerBay is shaping the future of how brokerages, agents and consumers transact in real estate.  BrokerBay is an advanced cloud-based ecosystem designed to replace the legacy systems previously used by brokerages across North America. 

This is a remote role based out of Rochester NY or Salem OR with up to 50% traveling to Toronto ON, Canada.

About this role

This is a unique opportunity for a UX/UI Designer to lead and be a part of product design for one of the most exciting start-ups in the real estate industry. BrokerBay is looking for an experienced product designer to join the team and grow our product delivery capabilities. BrokerBay is a product-first company, with our current offering far ahead of its competition and our client base rapidly expanding across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the product design strategy, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams i.e. product management, engineering, and sales
  • Create and maintain design guidelines, principles, and standards to ensure consistency across our products
  • Produce user-centered design solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing
  • Conduct user research and testing to identify user needs, behaviors, and preferences, to incorporate feedback into design solutions
  • Build and maintain design systems to support the development of scalable, consistent, and high-quality products
  • Manage and mentor a team of designers, provide feedback and guidance to improve skills and development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and prioritize design deliverables
  • Translate product and business objectives into design solutions
  • Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate product concepts and solutions
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback into design solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in product design, multiple portfolios demonstrating successful design process and outcomes
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing a team of designers
  • 2+ years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Master's degree in design
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about design solutions
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-driven design
  • Able to communicate design concepts and decisions effectively to stakeholders
  • Working in an agile development environment
