About This Role

We are seeking an established Accounting professional to perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards related to general accounting, general ledger, projects, and / or government accounting. Qualified candidates should have experience compiling and maintaining accounting statements, reports, general ledger accounts, cost revenue reports, balance sheets, and / or bank statement reconciliations in order to ensure smooth functioning of the processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the month-end closing process

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Provide accounting support to field organization

  • Maintain accounting standard work documentation

  • Perform cost accounting functions and associated entries necessary for proper revenue recognitions or deferrals

  • Approve journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Provide balance sheet fluctuation analysis

  • Prepare and submit financial data (including HFM supplemental data) for corporate reporting

  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Tax packages as requested by Carrier Tax Department

  • Maintain a strong internal controls environment

  • Provide inputs into incentive calculations

  • Special ad-hoc projects as assigned by the manager

Required Qualifications:        

  • 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance or Business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree, CPA or CMA preferred

  • 1+ years working in a services or manufacturing environment

  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization

  • Proficient with MS Office; advanced knowledge of MS Excel including to ability to do complex formulas, pivot tables, and reports

  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, and Python is a plus

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management in both written form and orally

  • Strong PC skills including experience with ERP Applications such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP, HFM

  • Strong attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time
