About this role
Lead professional and recognized thought leader in Supplier Performance, who drives supplier performance and business-wide metrics and leads on site assessments. Advises key suppliers on resolutions for significant issues that are likely to have a business-wide impact. Collaborates with executive management of key and critical supplies and leads coordination across sites and functional boundaries. Implements the resolution of company/department wide risks/obstacles with critical buyers to ensure manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules are in alignment with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads onsite assessments with the most critical buyers, quality, and engineering teams to drive overall supplies improvement.
- Leads in the improvement of critical supplier performance to Supplier Gold standards by leveraging the Supplier Development Playbook and other supplier performance tools.
- Removes significant barriers to the implementation of CI for suppliers to improve on-time delivery and quality.
- Leads the evaluation of key supplier performance and applies sustainable counter measures and actions in order to facilitate improvement.
- May oversee production readiness assessments for New Product Introduction and rate increases, including capacity confirmation to ensure a timely ramp-up to production volumes with a business wide impact.
- Oversees the monitoring of critical business wide metrics and the coordination of cross-functional work teams to significantly increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
- Collaborates with executive management of key suppliers to initiate appropriate major improvement programs to achieve and sustain high levels of performance.
- Leads the coordination with critical buyers across sites and functional boundaries to identify and resolve organization/department wide risks/obstacles in a pro-active and expeditious manner to ensure manufacturing, supply chain and delivery schedules are in alignment with customer needs.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS degree
- 6+ years of quality supplier development experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Degree preferred
- Degree in business management, procurement or supply chain management preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Cost reduction project leadership experience in a related environment preferred
- Technical acumen / understanding of commodity management and ability to quickly learn products and industry
- Ability to work effectively with cross-cultural suppliers on technical and logistics issues
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills
- Team player and influencing skills required to establish and sustain a lean culture
- Strong negotiation skills
