As a Hardware Engineering Supervisor for Automated Logic Corporation, you will be responsible for leading a team of hardware engineers through the design phase of construction projects, relevant service projects and modifications to existing ALC BAS systems. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the execution of design, while strategically implementing engineering initiatives to improve processes and ensure consistent engineering deliverables, and to enhance the performance of the hardware engineering team. This position will report directly to the Area Engineering Manager to help drive the organization’s commitment to operational excellence. In addition, this position will be responsible for collaborating with sales and operations throughout estimation of projects, and will need to communicate effectively with fellow employees, upper management, as well as other internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all Automated Logic organizational safety and ethics standards are met.
Comprehend, analyze, and interpret construction plans and specification documents.
Supervise hardware engineering team, with responsibility of reviewing work prior to submission as well as appropriate training on design and equipment.
Plan, organize, prioritize, and direct hardware engineering team to ensure an accurate engineering package is deployed for each project.
Monitors progress against project/program schedules; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.
Collaborates with other area supervisors, managers, and staff to coordinate programs, projects, and activities amongst work groups.
Reviews processes and makes recommendations for process improvement in areas where needed
Conduct effective interviews with engineering candidates and actively participate in recruiting
Approves time off for payroll purposes; prepares employee performance evaluations; monitors and participates in employee relations activities within the department.
Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to HVAC automation.
Travel up to 10%
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or building automation
8+ years of related experience in the Building Automation industry
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree and 8+ years of related experience in the Building Automation industry including:
3+ years of experience designing hardware installation diagrams and developing written sequences of operation.
3+ years of experience as a supervisor, lead engineer, or project manager
OR
Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building automation, or related field and 12+ years of related experience in the Building Automation industry including:
3+ years of experience designing hardware installation diagrams and developing written sequences of operation.
3+ years of experience as a supervisor, lead engineer, or project manager
Previous experience in developing software through Eikon
Previous experience in developing graphics through Viewbuilder
Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
Strong planning, forecasting and presentation skills with proven product design and management skills
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Competitive individual contributor who loves to win as a team.
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.
Previous experience with Microsoft Visio. Special consideration given to individuals with Automated Logic EDS experience
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under general direction in a highly dynamic, and collaborative environment.
Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
