About this role

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for the development of next generation Indoor Cooling unit and designing residential split system product that meets market requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to ad hoc assignments as needed.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with diverse audiences including but not limited to; cross functional team members, senior leaders, global suppliers, and external customers including service managers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with internal functions to support key metrics for a program and ensure all goals are achieved
  • Partner with design team members to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems, and products
  • Collaborate with lab technicians to complete performance testing, reliability testing and agency testing requirements
  • Development of test procedures to evaluate new designs.
  • Enhance commonality and optimization of product & components.
  • Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
  • Work with quality clinic and related departments to support the test and verification of field issues.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in an Engineering role focused on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamics
  • 2+ years of experience working with HVAC systems or other Cooling/Heating Technology involved with HVAC systems

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing similar products for high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Capacity to self-direct/motivate with a vision toward overall product goals.
  • Project leadership experience.
  • Experience working in a team environment within (Design Services, Test Labs and Model Shop) and outside of functional support groups (Product Quality, Supplier Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing) 
  • Strong skills with Microsoft; Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to understand product/component function, reliability and quality requirements
  • Strong cross functional team experience.
