About this role

The Associate Director, Communications will lead the development of a best-in-class integrated communication strategy for the Global Operations function at Carrier. This is a highly impactful and visible role responsible for developing and deploying compelling and engaging internal and external communications, amplifying the enterprise Operations strategy. This includes working directly with a number of senior leaders and partnering with global communications professionals, as appropriate, to ensure a consistent and cohesive integrated communications strategy.

This position will report to the Executive Director, Corporate Communications and is located at Carrier's world headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders across the Global Operations team to create and execute an enterprise-wide communications plan aligned with organizational goals. Includes all internal and external communications, crisis communications and operations extensive calendar of meetings and events

  • Develop the strategic direction for social media, internal communications, external communications and creative services (graphic design, video, photography) as needed

  • Develop and implement strategy to engage our global workforce; develop and execute a comprehensive global employee engagement campaign across Operations, enabling the global operations strategy and transformation initiatives

  • Create executive messaging, presentations and other communications deliverables for employees and some external audiences, as appropriate. Materials can include leadership messages, video content, talking points and more

  • Develop and maintain an executive messaging editorial calendar to ensure a regular cadence of messaging that appropriately balances business priorities

  • Build strong professional relationships to ensure individual, authentic voices are captured and incorporated into all materials

  • Drive development and execution of multiple livestreamed Global Town Hall events for Operations 20,000+ employees

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen thought leadership in key areas of innovation and social impact – in alignment with the corporate communications team’s broader thought leadership program

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of communication strategy experience for a global manufacturer or operations organization

  • 8+ year of experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Photoshop, and Linkedin

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • Demonstrated track record of building best teams

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complex issues and subject matters

  • Strong executive presence, exceptional listening skills and the ability to anticipate needs and prepare accordingly

  • Detailed oriented with excellent project management and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to execute with speed and exhibit a bias for action mindset. Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of, employees, senior leadership, and global headquarters team

  • Experience developing communications for global and multinational audiences

  • Given the nature of this position, at times the work product associated with this role will require the incumbent to work after hours and / or manage highly urgent, short deadline priorities
