Commercial HVAC Service Sales Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Sales Leader to lead a team of sales managers and sales professionals focused on growing our CHVAC lifecycle solutions offerings, which’ll contribute to the growth and success of Carrier Service and enable Carrier to continue to differentiate themselves as a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Reporting to the Director of North America Field Service Sales and based in the Northeast part of the US, the CHVAC Service Sales Leader position will be responsible for developing and driving the execution of sales strategies and programs for a salesforce of 40-60 sales professionals within the Northeast Zone, to achieve sales goals.


Primary responsibilities in this role include:

  • Achieve financial goals for the Northeast zone through a mixture of attaining Line of Business orders, revenue, and profitability targets across Service Repairs, Service Agreements, and Mods & Controls Projects
  • Establish strategic action plans and sales targets for respective sales markets, reviewing progress with local sales management on a continuous basis to ensure resources are utilized effectively through alignment to territories, customers, and focused-selling roles
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for productive sales management coaching sessions with each member of the team, while providing timely feedback on their performance
  • Lead Field Services growth initiatives and transform the business mix via new product introductions focused on Healthy Buildings, Digitally-Enabled offerings, Sustainability offerings, and key vertical-focuses
  • Nurture and expand relationships with existing key customers
  • Assist sales channel partners (i.e. distributors, direct sales offices, rep firms) to elevate customer experience and Service pull-through opportunities
  • Collaborate across Carrier functions and business divisions to expand growth and successful execution of CarrierOne sales opportunities  
  • Build an engaged and sustainable workforce by supporting or creating development plans for direct team focused on 3E’s (Experience, Exposure, and Education)
  • Adopt and leverage tools/platforms such as SFDC and PowerBI to monitor key sales metrics and initiatives, focused on enhancing sales efficiency and effectiveness

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a High School diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in the HVAC or in the Building Technologies industries
  • 5+ years’ experience in people management in the HVAC or in the Building Technologies industries, in professional positions with increasing responsibility
  • Ability to travel 50% within the assigned zone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in Service and Aftermarket industries in sales
  • Understanding of market dynamics including industry trends
  • Proven track record of coaching sales teams to deliver results
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize data from various sources in both graphic and verbal format, while easily translating them to the target audience
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
  • Working experience and advanced skills with CRM, preferably SalesForce
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
  • Superior follow-up and follow-through skills

  • Hybrid work environment, ideally in one of these preferred work locations: New York City, Boston MA, Clifton NJ, or Washington DC
  • Travel is required up to 50% within assigned Zone
