About This Role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all general accounting activities and production operations support including reporting and general support. He/she oversees accounts payable, cash application, payroll, fixed assets, standard costing and operational reporting. In addition, the Accounting Manager coordinates the monthly closing process to ensure accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements.
Leads team of intermediate to experienced Accounting professionals, setting objectives and guiding others on execution of general accounting processes, such as inter-company cash, cash management, government accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, and / or balance sheet management. Develops and explains accounting procedures, and control processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises accountants and / or support- level employees for a small organization to ensure smooth functioning of the department.
Oversees activities related to general ledger preparation, government accounting activities, and / or projects, to assure timely completion and accuracy of accounting activities.
Oversight and supervision of inventory accuracy and shop floor support.
Provides detailed financial analysis for a small-sized organization's operating results and proposed activities, and presents the analysis to management, in order to keep management updated and informed.
Oversees implementation of monthly and quarterly financial and compliance processes, to ensure that all compliance requirements are adhered to.
Develops and explains accounting policies, procedures, and control processes to ensure that policies are clear and understood by all.
Oversees and implements medium-scale projects.
Supervises internal and external audits, to ensure compliance and timely completion.
The Accounting Manager is measured on several factors:
Timely and accurate preparation of the HFM Accounts.
Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts on a monthly basis in ARMS to ensure balances are proper and well documented.
Training and development of the administrative staff to ensure Fireye has adequate personnel to perform the required functions.
Maintenance of fixed asset records – ensuring accuracy and that procedures are adequate and adhered to.
Preparation of the year end statutory accounts and federal and state tax packs.
Weekly preparation and submission of hourly payroll
Preparation and support of operational accounting requirements
Standard costing – accuracy and maintenance
Intercompany reporting
Supporting Internal ACA’s and audits
Banking
Interpersonal Relations:
Due to the nature of the position, the Accounting Manager will have regular contact will all levels of Fireye management. The Accounting Manager will be required to effectively communicate, via verbal and written means, to a variety of audiences. He/she may also have to act as a liaison between senior management and other Fireye functional areas and formally present financial information as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 5+ years of accounting experience OR Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 3+ years of accounting/finance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CMA certification preferred
Technical General Accounting Knowledge in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 2+ years in an accounting management function

PC Literacy and Automated Accounting Systems Skills
Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area.
Has broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
