About this role
The Advanced Materials Engineering (AME) group is responsible for developing, designing, and implementing new materials technology and applications. The AME Group is currently seeking a full-time intern to assist in process development, validation, and documentation. The intern will work with global, cross-disciplinary teams to baseline our process and identify streamlined opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to identify opportunities to streamline processes
· Document and validate procedures and materials qualifications
· Primary focus: metallurgical evaluations, chromatography, corrosion testing and analysis, and process improvement
· Calculate estimated cost savings associated with process improvements
Required Qualifications
· Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
· 3.0 or higher GPA
· Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledge of metallurgy, chemistry, or related field
· Knowledge of refrigeration products
· Ability to solve challenging and complex engineering problems
· Statistical knowledge
· Process improvement experience
