About The Role:

The Electrical Lab Technician is a skilled individual contributor, responsible for the preparation of design prototypes, conducting evaluations, data acquisition, test equipment design, selection and maintenance, report writing and participation in the troubleshooting and design review process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and tests electrical sub-assemblies.
  • Maintains, modify and document changes to existing laboratory and test equipment to operate as needed as directed.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical circuits for R&D and New Product development projects.
  • Writes test reports by identifying basic data and drawing basic conclusions.
  • Interacts with engineers on regular basis providing information and recommendations leading to conclusions that affect product design.
  • Perform failure analysis.
  • Perform detailed signal integrity, quality, and characterization measurements.
  • Setup and perform electrical, thermal, and mechanical testing of various electrical systems and devices.

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma with 5+ years of lab electrical technician experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
  • Proven ability to do hands on electrical work e.g., rework, soldering and larger, test methodology, design and draft circuitry, and product debugging.
  • Understanding of hardware development best practices in the following functional areas: power, analog, and digital
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltage generators and other relevant equipment).
  • Experience with a variety of data acquisition hardware
  • Solid understanding of good laboratory safety and operations practices.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel.
