About The Role:

Carrier is looking for a chief architect for our global businesses to drive a strategic, customer centric innovation portfolio focused on aftermarket services, including lifecycle solutions, self-test and monitoring for diagnosis, serviceability, proprietary differentiated parts, retrofits, end of life. The candidate will partner closely with relevant business unit general managers, engineering, product, sales and strategy leaders in order to deeply analyze incoming trends, opportunities and threats that relate to aftermarket services and the technology necessary to deliver them– and to build out an aligned actionable strategy and plan to position Carrier for leadership and growth.  The ideal candidate would have successfully developed innovation strategy, matured technology concepts all the way to product solutions while having close cross-functional engagement throughout.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of global innovation roadmap to drive digitally enabled lifecycle solutions.
  • Co-ownership of joint innovation activities for solutions across multiple domains
  • Drive prioritization across R&D organizations (Innovation, Centers of Excellence, Business Engineering)
  • Define and execute technology strategy, architecture, and system level requirements within domain
  • Build value propositions across business segments for our technology development, aligned with business leadership
  • Drive enterprise level synergies through the development of global platforms
  • Own delivery of first generation innovation
  • Explore new design or technology shifts to determine how they might connect with the customer benefits & drive intelligent automated outcomes
  • Understand and respond to competition and disruption in the market

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of engineering experience in HVAC systems and associated service/aftermarket (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relationship Building: Proven track record of building trusted relationships with Digital and Business management across product lines. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions/initiatives.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve problems using analytical thinking, reconciling viewpoints, evaluating technologies, and leveraging key relationships.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, Digital management, Functional leaders, Field service, as well as DevOps teams).  Demonstrated ability to interact with key customers.
  • Extensive experience in creating service offerings on capital equipment and their roll out globally
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of IoT and it’s contribution to digital services (remote monitoring, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance)
