About this role

We are seeking a Service Contracts Business Development and Sales Manager who has experience building and growing ongoing business with existing customers working with sales, channel partners and direct customers. The scope includes developing a robust program to provide annual service contracts for these customers. This would include working jointly with the regional sales teams to develop and execute sales strategies to retain existing customers and better manage their lifecycle needs through the field service team. Applies advanced knowledge of industrial or technical sales and business development to provide one-stop life cycle solutions to customers under Carrier's BluEdge service platform. Analyzes and interprets customer needs to offer tailored service programs specific to customer's asset lifecycle goals and application needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to develop and refine a service contracts program including parameters for product, pricing and support requirements for life cycle management of Det-Tronics installed base. Establish scorecard and key metrics to track performance and program success.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Sales Directors, Channel Partners and Service Manager to develop comprehensive and recurring Service contracts with key customer accounts
  • Drive business growth and expansion working with region/channel and accounts for Service Contracts opportunities.
  • Manage complex project pursuits from discovery to close
  • Support execution of objectives to achieve KPIs, including reporting, analytics, pipeline management, and bid preparation in order to drive growth in identified markets.
  • Advise, coach and assist sales channels in their sales pursuit activities
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customers and internal stakeholders by reinforcing quality, continuous innovation and solution selling
  • Provides input to leadership team on Field Service growth strategy.
  • Monitors and reports results against plan to colleagues and senior management
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop specific marketing/promotion programs


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of diversified sales and business development experience


Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, technical field, or engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of diversified sales and business development experience in an industrial or technology field
  • Selling and problem-solving skills, strong analytical, project management, logical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills to develop plans and strategies to succeed in building loyal customers for ongoing growth
  • Strong analytical/ logical thinking skills along with judgment to formulate a full program and make strategic decisions to establish a complete program from prospecting to close.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Possess a growth mindset, and a customer focused approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow-up on issues and progress in order to meet leadership expectations
  • Excellent written, verbal skills, and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Knowledge of how to present ideas and strategies clearly to diverse audiences, leadership, and decision makers

  • Strong organization and time management; Can work creatively in an ambiguous environment
  • Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
  • Understanding of industrial fire protection/suppression and flammable/toxic gas detection systems used in petrochemical, oil, and gas production facilities
  • Experience in managing a $10M+ P&L
  • 3+ years' experience in Field Service sales
  • Experience with large project sales initiatives and proposal development
