About This Role
This role will report directly to the Kidde Fenwal Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with the full spectrum of Kidde Fire and Fenwal Controls functional leaders, including IT, customer service, operations, finance, human resources, procurement, and supply chain. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing Kidde Fire and Fenwal Controls compliance and filing with all local, state, federal, and international tax requirements. The role will also involve coordination with international finance and tax resources in the UK and/or India as well as sourcing and management of third-party tax providers
Key Responsibilities:
Owns the end-to-end process of data collection, tax filing, and tax reporting (including, but not limited to: sales and use, Federal/state income, global payroll, local property, VAT, import duty, etc.)
Establishes and monitors the development of optimal global tax strategies to minimize U.S. and foreign income taxes
Leads effective tax planning and forecasting to minimize tax impacts and tax related cash outlays
Optimizes profit and tax aspects of arms-length intercompany transactions
Researches and consults on complex global tax issues and advises senior leaders on tax strategies
Directs global tax reporting and compliance activities including timeline and accurate filings to minimize penalties and fees
Identifies and mitigates tax risk and exposure
Evaluates business models and collaborates with other finance disciplines to mobilize foreign cash, maximize foreign cash repatriation, evaluate dividend strategy, use tax treaties and structure transactions in a tax effective manner
Identifies, engages, and manages external tax providers and relationships
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance or business
10+ years of Global Tax experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Competencies:
CPA or similar certification
Master’s Degree in Tax, or other relevant finance related degree
2+ years of prior experience in large or middle market public accounting firm
Base working knowledge of transfer pricing rules/concepts and indirect taxes (VAT, GST)
Experience with international tax compliance and reporting
Must be a strategic thinker with strong business sense, capable of understanding the broader business and finance initiatives and their interrelation with tax
Needs to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functional areas of the organization beyond tax
M&A skillset specifically related to post-acquisition integration work is a plus
